Delta Health System- The Medical Center Telehealth

As healthcare providers navigate through the COVID-19 outbreak, Delta Health System- The Medical Center (DRMC) continues to enhance capabilities to maintain the safety of patients, staff and providers during these challenging times. DRMC’s Delta Medical Group is made up of a twelve clinics representing fourteen different specialties providing quality care throughout the region. Effective immediately, these clinics are offering telehealth services to their patients.

Telehealth is the use of digital information and communication technologies, such as computers and mobile devices, to access health care services remotely and manage your health care.

“In response to the Governor and Mississippi Division of Medicaid allowing the expansion of telehealth services throughout the state, Delta Health System- The Medical Center immediately made the decision to offer this service to limit travel and possible exposure to COVID-19,” said Scott Christensen, Chief Executive Officer. “Our number one resource is our people and keeping everyone as safe and healthy as possible is our top priority. I am proud of the DRMC team for taking charge during this situation and looking for more processes that provide access to care while following the CDC guidelines.”
 

The process will be simple for all concerned. Patients will call their respective clinics and will be instructed by the staff concerning set-up and registration. The DMG staffs goal is to provide an excellent experience and ensure patients are receiving quality care. Telehealth services are covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most insurance.

Implementing telehealth services at the clinics serves all of these goals,” said Janet Benzing, Executive Director, Ancillary Services.
