Delta Health System Re-Establishes Healthcare Foundation
News
Iris Stacker, Chief Executive Officer at Delta Health System, announces the relaunching of the Tri-State Healthcare Foundation under the new name of Delta Regional Healthcare Foundation to support the sustainability and advancement of Delta Health System. The Foundation was established in 2009 but has been dormant for years after various leadership changes. The Delta Health System Board of Trustees has embarked on redefining the system’s strategic plan to include re-establishing the foundation.
The Delta Regional Healthcare Foundation will operate as a 501c3 under the leadership of the Delta Health System Board of Trustees. The primary focus for the foundation includes hospital and clinic capital needs, hospital infrastructure, education and workforce training, community health education, and service expansion.
“The healthcare climate in rural Mississippi has been extremely challenging for years so the Delta Health System leadership made the prudent decision to reinstate the foundation which will give our system more leverage for matching grants and other resources. Our team has done an incredible job of turning the ship around but for our hospital to grow and bring innovative technology, infrastructure, services, and education to the community and region, we need funding to do so,” said Stacker.
The Delta Regional Healthcare Foundation will begin a capital campaign with numerous opportunities and levels of support. This will include endowments, sponsorships, monthly or one-time donations, and corporate giving. Levels of giving begin at the Honor Roll level of $100.00 up to the Major Donor level of $500,000 or more. More information to follow.
“The Delta Health System Board of Trustees supports the Foundation as another resource to sustain The Medical Center but also be an avenue for donors to contribute to an entity that might have been instrumental in saving a loved one’s life, the birthplace of a family member, or the location of employment for them in the past,” said Ms. Jamelda Fulton, Chairman of the Board.
In the last few years, the Delta Health System focus has been working with federal and state government grant funders to offset financial losses, build workforce capacity, and expand healthcare services during post pandemic operations. The redevelopment of the foundation will provide opportunities to expand those grant applications to the private sector interested in supporting healthcare in the Mississippi Delta.
“Delta Health System is in a position to secure more funding with the foundation which will not only bring in more funds but also highlight the services we have in the Mississippi Delta. Our hospital system is vital to the healthcare community as well as an
economic engine for business development in Greenville, Washington County, and the Delta. Our vision to be the best hospital in Mississippi continues today and I am confident that this foundation will advance us into the future,” said Stacker.
The Delta Regional Healthcare Foundation’s goal is to provide financial relief to hospital system allowing the leadership to continue the mission of providing excellent healthcare right here in the Delta Region. Three pillars for fundraising include: Education/workforce, Hospital and clinic infrastructure needs, and Capital purchases. Specific details will be forthcoming.
