Strides Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation Center provides intensive therapy and training for patients in how to function independently or with family assistance once they return home. Depending upon the degree of their functional limitation, the team assists them in "relearning" activities such as eating, dressing, bathing, cooking, and performing household duties—simple tasks that might seem overwhelming without the coping techniques they will acquire during therapy. To help patients feel more confident about functioning independently, the Center provides a laundry room, training kitchen, and training bathroom where they can practice daily routines.
Each patient is different, but a typical length of stay is 10-14 days, with three hours of therapy at least five days a week. Once the goals of the patient's plan of care have been met, the patient can be discharged. After patients return home, our Strides treatment team may recommend home care or outpatient services, so patients can continue to improve.
Patients are referred to Strides Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation Center by their physician. Insurance coverage for inpatient rehabilitation may be provided by Medicare, Medicaid, Workers' Compensation, and many private insurance companies.
